The Kent Bar Mess recognises the challenges barristers face when returning to practice after having had a family, suffered a bereavement or otherwise taken a career break. In light of this, the Kent Bar Mess has created a Career Break Mentoring Scheme.
The Career Break Mentoring Scheme is an opportunity for barristers to have access to advice, guidance and information from an experienced practitioner who has been through the whole process, and has returned to a flourishing practice. The scheme will also enable the mentor to impart key developments in law/personnel/practice and procedure as the occur throughout the break.
It is hoped that this scheme will prove invaluable to barristers who are either contemplating a career break, are currently on parental leave, or are returning to practice following a break taken for other reasons.
If you are planning a career break, on a career break or know someone who might benefit from the scheme the initial contact details are as follows:
[email protected]
We will then identify a suitable mentor.
All communications will be in confidence.
